Can design for Stroud Brewery’s organic Hefewiezen – Buen Vivir and featured as part of the Toast Ale led launch of the COP26 Companion Series.
The name Buen Vivir comes from an indigenous philosophy that one’s wellbeing is intimately connected to that of the environment and community.
The Companion Series is a collaboration of 26 breweries coming together, each creating their own beer, with a simple message for world leaders meeting at the COP26 climate talks. We’re in a climate emergency. We’re facing loss of habitats and species, and threats to lives and livelihoods.
My design drivers were
- Delight and companionability with nature.
- Coming together
- Quiet happiness and contentedness with the simple things in life
- Freshness and fun
I went for Simple – Strong – Gentle – Friendly and Cool!
My intention was that my design should outline and underline the basic ethos and premise of Stroud Brewery’s socially conscious interactions their customers, the environment and with methods of commerce and trade. The understanding of Buen Vivir as an overarching goal underlying all and everything: Basic humanity; awareness; kindness; living-life-like-it-matters; being friendly; communication; coming together; loving-and-taking-care-of-what-you-already-have.
