Wonder Women

Royal Opera House, Covent Garden

Commissioned as part of the Family Sunday program of events at the newly opened Paul Hamlyn building, Covent Garden, these huge printed banners build on the strong body of work that I have created for the ROH education and out-reach team over the last few years.

As part of their Wonder Women celebration, the characters represent strong female figures from the Royal Opera House and Royal Ballet’s extensive repertoire of leading ladies. Each unique design seeks to capture the essence, personality and story-telling qualities bellying these stand-alone females and create a striking backdrop to this celebratory public event.

Printed to a 3.5m drop, the images were designed as clear impactful graphics, using colour and intent linework to capture character and the ROH outreach ethos alike, and to hold tight within the bustling context of the spectacular Paul Hamlyn Building.
