National Schools Program Create Day Illustrations
Create Day is a free mass-participation day of singing, dancing and design with KS2 classrooms across England celebrating the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child with dancers and singers from the Royal Ballet and Royal Opera.
Inspired by Crystal Pite’s choreography ‘Covenant’ and exploring themes of identity and hope through a performance of Ayanna Witter-Johnson’s song ‘The Hope’, my illustrations draw from these two artist’s works, forming a visual back drop and continuity theme and inspiration board for participating schools within their resource pack.
Many of the Hope Illustrations are dance and movement orientated formulated a rolling digital background to the live online performance show in Covent Garden, and to the live link ups at Coventry Cathedral and at High House Production Park, Thurrock.
